The Jasper Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO), a non-profit organization, was formed in 1993. The 4A Corporation is funded by a 1/2 cent economic development sales tax. The Corporation works closely with the Governor's Office of Economic Development & Tourism, the Jasper/Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce, Jasper County Government, Deep East Texas Council of Governments, Jasper Independent School District, Entergy and the Texas Workforce Commission. The Corporation, on behalf of the City of Jasper, oversees the administration of the tax revenues for the purpose of marketing and business assistance.

To promote, encourage and enhance the creation of jobs and expansion of the local tax base through projects which assist in the retention and expansion of existing primary employers and which attract new primary employers and aid in their development and growth. |
